Guidelines for Oral Presentation

The paper should not be read as written in the proceedings; oral communications require distinctly different styles. It is better to have some visual material which can serve as a guide.

Visuals             These can be of three types:

§         Computer (data projection) presentations using Power Point or similar software.

§          The conventional 35 mm slides.  (should be requested)

§         Overhead projector transparencies (should be requested)

Artwork            If several lines of text are used, the spacing should be 1.5 characters. It is suggested, that an all-text slide should not contain more than 10 lines or 80 words

Direct photocopies from printed text or typescript are totally unacceptable as these would probably be illegible and no-one will read extensive text on the screen.

Content            1-It is useful to start with a slide stating the title and introducing the author.

2- This could be followed by a list of points to be covered, giving the structure of the paper to be presented.

3-Further breakdown of each section, with a list of key terms will allow the presenter to speak freely to each point, but at the same time provide a guide to the presentation.

Note: You should arrive in room at least 15 minutes prior to session time so that you can arrange with assistants your representation requirements.

GOOD LUCK.
